Mmdelai tends toward the darker side of electronica, with ethereal elements. Critics have detected hints of Portishead, Aphex twin and PJ Harvey. The first EP was quietly released in 2011 and enjoyed some great reviews, indie airplay and a top 10 in the BFM charts with "Sicily Sea".
