Benjamin James Eastwood didn’t start playing the guitar until he was 17, and for many years it never really got to serious, just innocent experiments with song writing, another creative outlet for expressing his emotions and thoughts. That was until a move to Wanaka in New Zealand’s South Island created a lifestyle change, and a chance to connect with other musicians and perform to an audience. It helped to give Benjamin’s song writing direction and express himself through his music.

Described as Acoustic Indie Folk, Benjamin’s songs are musically very simple, quite melodic, and often deep lyrically, mostly of good times and good feelings. However, his songs can also get a little dark. His influences vary and change often and although he has a distinct style, it is the subtle differences that take the story of the song down paths less travelled. Yet you’ll find a familiar feel to his music, drawing inspiration from artists such as: Jack Johnson, Bob Dylan, Cat Stevens, Pete Murray and many more. The music of Benjamin James Eastwood is nothing too unique, it is just honest, easy to listen to songs of, life, love, friends and family, and the world the way he sees it
