Dobi Kwe Dobi Kwe is an emerging female artist from South London bringing a fresh and exciting new sound to the music scene. A unique blend of soulful vocals combined with a wide range of influences make her versatile if not impossible to pigeonhole!Classically trained as a youngster, then as a gospel singer, before being immersed in pop culture & music, Dobi can switch gears without missing a beat. And the resulting sound is commercial with depth & quite some bite!All about engaging lyrics, Dobi's music is driven predominantly by infectious basslines and catchy rhythms. She says of herself, “I’m a spiritual person and the music I make reflects this. I think about life… what makes people tick”. Dobi has a strong image, great lyrics & a distinctive style. But she continues to draw on the many influences she loves, with her numerous songs often revealing a different side to her. “Music is my passion; it can express and create every [kind of] human mood and emotion, it can tell a story, make you cry, make you want to jump up & down, so it has to be versatile.”Dobi’s first independent release, “Feel That Jam!” debuted at #21 on the U.K. Club Charts (August 25th 2007) and rose to #7! The song was also given an additional boost by dance music specialists WAWA who contributed a remix of the song. 2007 also saw Dobi selected from thousand across the country as one of the finalists in the Hugo Urban Rules showcase in London (Dec 4th 2007) which was headlined by Unklejam and Amerie. She was also selected as one of the finalists in the 2007 USA Song-writing competition for her song “Movershaker”. On November 1st 2008 at a star-studded event in London hosted by Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees, Dobi received yet another accolade when listeners worldwide voted "Feel That Jam!" as the winning Song in the R&B/Soul category of the Festival4stars International songwriting competition. 2008 also saw Dobi return to the studio to focus on writing and recording new material as she looks to continue to expand her steadily growing catalog of music. 2009 saw the start of her present project which Dobi is currently finishing up & performing L!VE!
