Escort Knights The band’s current single ‘I Don’t Know Your Name’ represents their sound fully, Tasty Fanzine stated "Escort Knights sport a nicely laid back indie funk groove, a little like The Sunshine Underground having undergone calmative hypnotherapy." Escort Knights were recently selected from hundreds of entrants to provide the soundtrack for the animated advert to publicise the new Leeds Arena, a multi-million pound 15,000 capacity arena set to be one of the most groundbreaking entertainment venues in Europe. The commercial ad began broadcasting on national and regional media as well as on the BBC big screens in Leeds’ Millenium Square from mid-August, thus generating an even larger amount of much deserved publicity for the band. Following the Leeds Arena Campaign, Escort Knights launched a worldwide competition to find the ultimate remix for their single ‘I Don’t Know Your Name’. The winning remix will earn a place on the B-Side of the band’s next single ‘Saturday’, to be released in March 2011. Having received hundreds of downloads the entries are rolling in with the winner to be announced mid December. Escort Knight’s music is also to be featured in brand new drama series ‘The Glue’ which will be broadcast in early 2011. Since forming in late 2009, Escort Knights have rapidly established themselves on the UK gig circuit, playing in cities such as London, Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield, Bath, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow among others and recently supporting acts such as Grosvenor (formerly of Hot Chip), electro pop act Transformer and Pineapple Dance Studio’s Starman. They have also received significant airplay for their songs from radio stations such as BBC Radio Leeds, Radio Aire and BCB Radio. Their debut album is nearing completion and due for release in 2011.
