Stephen Bradshaw
22 years old Filmmaker. Lives in Holloway. Advocate of equal rights.
Stephen is a filmmaker, specialising in documentaries. He has a fascination with the concept of 'celebrity', and 'fame', and why people put other human beings on pedestals. He thinks people judge each other based on superficial things such as money, fame or 'power'. As a filmmaker his mission is to get the message across that 'we are all equal' . He believes that people with money are treated with more respect, and that they act as if they are more superior than anyone else. Through his documentaries he wants to show the public how ridiculous it all is. In his bid to make people see how fickle and arrogant others are, he is unaware that he is making very big judgements of his own. Is he a hypocrite or a hero?
Monologue
What’s up! My name’s Steven Bradshaw. I’m 22 years old, and I live in Holloway, North London. Um, I would describe…myself as a film maker, a director and…multimedia geek. But you know what? I love making documentaries and short films. Basically, anything that involves creativity. I think that you can take any subject and make it interesting, and entertaining, and, and hopefully it inspires people, you know? But you have to have in the back of your mind, what it is that your trying to convey…so that people understand…so that they get the message. It’s really important that they get the point, otherwise there’s no point.
One thing that really frustrates me is that…I think, I think that sometimes we get so distracted by material things and we get so obsessed with money, fame and success. We never really appreciate what we have, and who we are, cause we're always trying to be like someone else, or have what thy have. No one is better than anyone else. WE ARE ALL EQUAL, you know what I’m saying. I‘m not interested in how much money you got, or how many houses or cars…blah blah blah…you get me. Don’t get me wrong...I ‘m happy for you, but you’re not better than me or anyone else…that’s basically all I’m trying to say.
